Obituary of Terrance Joseph Stephen

STEPHEN, Terrance Joseph “Ted”

Retired Director - Canadian Coast Guard

Peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus, Ted Stephen went to be with the Lord at the age of 86.  Loving and devoted husband to Sadie (McNeil) for 62 years. Dearly loved father of the late Bob (Jennifer), Mary (Alvin Bailey), Terry (Douglas) and Paul (Mary Ellen). Especially proud and cherished “Jidi” of Jonathan (Erica), Matthew (Sara), Stephanie (Sabbi), Jaclyn (Matt), Sarah (Stephane), Samantha (Devin), Melissa, Alexandra, Stephen, Amanda and his great grandchildren, Hazel, Cianna, Jayden, Finn, Nora, Thomas, Olivia, Leo, Gus and Owen. Dear brother to Jacob (the late Sylvia), Robert (Margaret), Ramona (William Stack), the late Michael (the late Patricia). A special thank you to Bootsie and Gabie, Bette and Eddie for their lifelong friendship and for their care and compassion shown in Ted’s final days. He will be missed by his morning McDonald’s crew, the Local Hero’s crew and the many members of St. John the Apostle Parish. Ted was a loyal member of the Knights of Columbus. His many pleasures in life included football, hockey, golf, playing cards and the odd trip to the casino but nothing gave him more enjoyment and pleasure than time with his family, the dinners they shared together, the memories they made and the love that they all have for each other.  Family and friends may visit at Cole Funeral Services & Pinecrest Remembrance, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Monday, November 18, 2019 from 2:00 p.m.– 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2340 Baseline Road, Ottawa. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow in the parish hall. In memory of Ted, a donation to The Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation, 1500 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa Ontario K1G 3Y9 or to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation, 737 Parkdale Avenue, 1st Floor, Box 610, Ottawa, ON K1Y 1J8 would be appreciated. Ted's family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Ottawa Hospital General Campus for the care shown to Ted.
