Obituary of Charles George Barton

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Charles (Chuck) Barton on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at the age of 57. Chuck was a proud and loving father to Kortney. He was the beloved son of Barbara Barton (née MacLaurin) and the late Carl Barton. Cherished brother to Bonnie Quinlan (Patrick) of Ottawa and Ian Barton of Calgary, Alberta. A loving uncle to Paul and Matthew Quinlan and a dear nephew to Lois Barton. He will be deeply missed by his many friends. 

Chuck was a dedicated and valued employee at Hydro Ottawa, where he worked for many years before retiring in 2022. His true joy was working the land on the family farm, a passion he pursued with dedication right up to his last day.

A Funeral Service will be held at Breadalbane Baptist Church 22015 Breadalbane Road East, Dalkeith on Friday July 5, 2024, at 11:00 am.

A Celebration of Chucks Life will take place later that same day from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Vankleek Hill Agricultural Fairgrounds, 92 Main Street West, Vankleek Hill, Ontario with a sharing of memories at 2:30 p.m.

In memory of Chuck, donations to The University of Ottawa Heart Institute or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be greatly appreciated by the family.

A Tree of Remembrance for Chuck will be planted in the McAlpine Forever Forest, Vankleek Hill.
